Cars played an essential role in both films and the actors on which they are based. Whether they are in a car chase sequence outfitted with devices and weaponry or are simply what Bond drives about in. Here, we look at the most iconic cars from Bond films, which may encourage you to re-watch your Bond favorites.

Aston Martin DB5

Aston Martin DB5 is the quintessential Bond car in the history of 007 cars. The most ravishing car with a 4 L Engine with a top speed of 145 mph, this was undoubtedly the classic Bond, her majesty’s most lethal secret agent drives!

the first appearance was in ‘Goldfinger’ in 1964 alongside Sean Connery. It was such a dynamic car that it appeared in the 7 other bond films including the most recent one, ‘No time to die ’  in 2021. This car was not just stunning but was fully equipped in the movie. Going from machine guns to bulletproof screens in the rear to seat ejectors this was one of the top-notch four-wheel drives of that era.

Toyota 2000 GT

Toyota 2000GT was Daniel Craig’s favorite bond car. It was 1967 when a classic Japanese sports car was seen on the screen. It was a sleek and stylish premium sports automobile produced in limited quantities.

Toyota’s original sports car, the 2000GT proved a car could be badass sporty, and equally astonishing at that time. Its original sleek design couldn’t fit in 6’2 Sean Connery and hence a roofless version was fabricated for the movie. Only two of such were ever made. It was a well-balanced design.

Lotus Esprit S1

All the bond fans surely remember the famous car chase segment ever! In the film ‘The Spy Who Loved Me,’ James Bond drove a Lotus Esprit S1. Yes! The famous James bond scene where he converts his Lotus Esprit S1 into a submersible mode. That was a thrilling car chase which included cement sprayers, a periscope on the roof of the car, and shooting missiles. But realistically with a 1973 cc inline engine in a sleek fiberglass body on a steel frame, it weighed only 890 kgs. Tesla CEO Elon Musk purchased one of the Lotus Esprit S1s used in the film at a London auction in 2013.

Alfa Romeo GTV6

Octopussy’s Alfa Romeo GTV6 is next in line. It is said to be the hottest cheap sports car in Europe. It had an artfully arched hatchback. In the scene, Bond steals it from a german woman followed by a gas-guzzling car chase. No machine guns or missiles were involved, yet, the car energized and inspired many by its rumbling and powerful sound.

BMW Z8

BMW z8 is a german automated roadster car with a 4.9 l engine and 394 Hp. With a speed of 168 Mph, it can go from 0-to 60 in just 4.2 seconds. This was the car that got split into half in the movie but before that, it showed off pretty amazing gadgets like a forward-mounted rocket, machine guns, smoke screens, and even an EMP generator.

Aston Martin DBS

The first appearance in ‘casino royale’ in 2006 doing the epic stunt of rolling in air, it was the most appealing, armed, and ready for action. Built upon DB 9 platform with a 6L V12 engine, it has 517 Hp at 6500 Rpm. It was a magnificent coupe. The beauty of vehicular mobility is deeply intensified when you look at this piece of machinery, the DBS. This machine, one of Aston Martin’s finest makes, also played a crucial role in ‘On her majesty’s Secret Service’.

Aston Martin DB5, V8 Saloon and the Valhalla

Well, Valhalla aka Son of Valkyrie merely being a product placement in the movie ‘no time to die’ and appears only in one scene in the movie, 2021 James Bond movie opens with a scene in Italy with bond driving the classic Aston Martin DB5. Ravishing its way through an Italian village, DB5 was being chased by jaaaags!!! Beautifully shot, Undoubtedly DB 5 fits in the golden proportions of engineering. But the thrill of cars does not stop here. Aston martin’s other collector’s piece was a V8 saloon. The car is reminiscent of the first one seen in ‘the living day light’ in 1987. Equipped with spike tires and skies from the sides, the rocket booster Aston Martin V8 Saloon is called Britain’s first “true supercar,”.

It’s so difficult to choose your favorite bond gadget from amongst oil slick, machine guns, and the famous ejector seat. But coming upon the bond car itself, the great tire suspensions engine, they were all a piece of the original machinery and as premium as it was when built by men in a shed. It rolled on the screen like a performing dog. Its subtle and soothing sound on the road hit the heart of not just the James bond driving it but also the fans on the other side of the screen. The name is Bond, James Bond. The longevity of this legendary series is just as well-known as this dialogue. And every time the term Bond is brought up, it not only brings back cherished memories of all the performers who brought the silver screen to life, but it also stirs up recollections of all the Bond cars that have been produced over the years.

So, every time we remember bond, we remember him along with his legendary cars.
