Chocolate, Beat Saber, and Disney songs. No matter who you’re talking to, you can ask them what their favorite Disney song is, and you’ll generally get a quick answer, be it a specific song or an endless list of runner-ups (which is my case). Considering how wildly acclaimed Beat Saber has been as one of the best VR games so far, it was only a matter of time before people started bringing them together. Mixing two good things doesn’t always produce the best results – but in this case, it works wonders.
10. I Just Can’t Wait to Be King – The Lion King
Check Out This Song I’m gonna be a mighty king, so note blocks beware! No matter whether you identify with Simba or have grown to understand Zazu’s point of view, it’s hard not to sing along whenever this Disney classic plays. I watched this movie several times a day for years of my early life. It’s lively, fun, and full of energy – just what you’re looking for in a Beat Saber song. This song has the potential to be the “mane” event in your next note-slaying session.
9. Cantina Band (DJ AG Remix) – Star Wars
Check Out This Song Since 2012, Disney has officially owned Star Wars and Lucasfilm in its entirety. It’s effective retroactively, making this Star Wars: A New Hope classic a Disney song. What a time to be alive. While John William’s original song is definitely a bop, this remix by DJ AG makes the beat much more straightforward to get that body moving. It’s perfect for Beat Saber. Fun fact: The “Cantina Band” song actually has a name: Mad About Me – or at least that was the idea when John Williams first wrote this jazzy masterpiece. Now, it’s just the Cantina Band song.
8. Remember Me (Duo) ft. Natalia LaFourcade (Steerner Remix) – Coco
Check Out This Song Like our previous entry, we’re going for a remix for Coco’s fantastic lullaby about remembrance and long-lasting love. I love the original – specifically the version sung by Héctor Rivera to his daughter, Coco – but this dynamic remix certainly makes for better slashing. It makes me want to move my body, whereas the lullaby version only moves me to tears. Well, this one kind of moves me to tears too. Kinda hard to play on a VR headset while you’re crying.
7. Under the Sea – The Little Mermaid
Check Out This Song One song that needs no remix whatsoever to get me jumping around is Under the Sea, sung by Sebastian, the iconic Jamaican-accented crab from The Little Mermaid. It’s a song about appreciating what you have instead of throwing it away for some cheap thrills. There are tons of wonderful things about living under the sea, and the same is true of almost anywhere if you know where to look. VR gaming and Beat Saber have a way of letting you enter your own little pocket of happiness without having to leave the seafloor. Look at all the notes to slash around you. What more are you looking for?
6. You’re Welcome – Moana
Check Out This Song What can I say, except, you’re welcome! For the wonderful songs I found. I’ll be honest with you. Maui totally got me with this song. Look at the hair! The (dad) bod! It certainly is strange to be faced with greatness, and I can’t help but wonder if I can get a bod like his if I play Beat Saber vigorously enough. One way or another, I’m definitely trying it out. Be sure to lasso this song to stretch your Beat Saber sessions and bring you fun!
5. Perfect World – The Emperor’s New Groove
Check Out This Song The Emperor’s New Groove is by far my favorite Disney movie, and its opening musical sequence is just flawless in setting the film’s tone and introducing Incan Emperor Kuzco. Most of us don’t come from a thousand-year line of aristocrats. But it’s hard not to have fun watching Kuzco live his best life – or, at least, what he thinks it’s his best life. Sure, it comes at the expense of oppressed servants who secretly hate him. But hey, you can’t make an omelet without breaking some eggs – just as you can’t play Beat Saber without slashing some blocks.
4. Reflections – Mulan
Check Out This Song For something a bit slower and more traditional, consider Reflections from Mulan. Don’t worry – it’s not the one from the 2020 live-action film. Here at FandomSpot we respect the classics, and the 1998 original is hard to beat. It’s a song about coming to terms with who you really are and being honest with yourself and the world around you. It can get you in a reflective mood, but not before you’ve reached a high score. Take off the mask and reveal the Beat Saber master within.
3. I’ll Make a Man Out of You – Mulan
Check Out This Song Mulan has one of the best soundtracks in Disney history. And if we include Reflections, we can’t leave out the film’s most iconic song: I’ll Make a Man Out of You. No matter the situation, it’s always possible for someone to burst out singing this song. Whether it’s a party, a sleep-over, or the subway, you bet there’s someone who knows the lyrics to heart nearby. General Li Shang’s training regime is hard to emulate in the modern day, but you can definitely get down to business to defeat the note blocks with this custom Beat Saber song.
2. My Shot – Hamilton
Check Out This Song I am not throwing away my shot! My shot at getting more people to hear this awesome song, that is. Much like Star Wars, Hamilton is now a part of Disney, thanks to the power of money. Considering that it made it easy to view on Disney+ without going to Broadway or watching a low-quality recording, I can’t complain. Any young, scrappy, and hungry Beat Saber player will love this track.
1. I Wanna Be Like You (Sim Gretina Remix) – The Jungle Book
Check Out This Song I sure wasn’t expecting this. The Jungle Book is a great Disney classic I watched more than my fair share of times back in the day, but it’s pretty old – over 50 years old, in fact. Could such an old song really work in Beat Saber? Well, it can, thanks to this incredible electro-swing remix by Sim Gretina. And it’s a total bop. You won’t want to stop dancing once you hear it, and it’s twice as fun when set as the backdrop for your block-slashing frenzy. I wanna be like you, slash like you, weebydeebydeewoo~
